Mergers, acquisitions, alliances and divestitures are resource intensive transactions that may determine the success, growth, and survival of companies, especially in an increasing globalized world. In it is not surprising that in the last decades most research in management has focused on the analysis of M&A, alliances and divestitures. But what is new in the ongoing research? In this workshop, we want to explore novel ideas and findings on these phenomena to further advance knowledge in corporate strategy and propose new avenues for future research. Furthermore, we want to promote dialogue with other fields, beyond corporate strategy, that are interested in M&A, alliances and divestitures.

IE Business School invites you to participate in an exciting full-day discussion about corporate strategy and specifically what is new in mergers, acquisitions, alliances and divestitures. The Extension will take place at the IE University Madrid campus, conveniently located in the city center. The day after the Extension, and before the conference starts, we will bring participants from the main conference hotel to visit a nearby city, Segovia. Segovia hosts the main campus of IE University. We will take our participants to visit both the city and the campus.

Segovia is renowned the world over as a vibrant and diverse historic city, and was recognized as such when it was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1985. It is located in the Castile and Leon region of Spain and boasts an abundance of historical buildings, spectacular architecture and a unique atmosphere to study in. Segovia is famous for its Romanesque art, stunning architecture and historic monasteries. One of these convents, Convento de Santa Cruz la Real, is home to the IE University Campus, which is situated just outside the city walls. Built in 1218 and declared a National Heritage site in 1931, IE University's campus covers more than 18,000 m2 and consists of conference rooms, lecture halls, workrooms, laboratories, multimedia studios.
