The panel discusses important current and future topics regarding the role of power and politics in strategy processes, such as in strategic decision-making and strategy execution. Questions that will be addressed include: How do powerful strategic leaders affect process outcomes? What makes strategic leaders powerful and how do top managers engage in political behavior? How does the composition of the top management team affect politics and strategy activities? The panelists will be particularly encouraged to talk about promising future research opportunities, the suitable theoretical perspectives and methods for studying them, and the implications this research will have for our understanding of strategy processes.
